Lonnie Schock

Lonnie Schock has spent the majority of his career in Environmental Health and Safety leadership roles, including diverse roles at Hughes Aircraft Company and Intel Corporation. As part of DPR’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) shared leadership team, Lonnie collaborates with DPR’s family of companies to integrate EHS into DPR’s global operations in support of driving towards an incident-free environment. He looks strategically across the enterprise to guide teams towards sustainable excellence.

• What You Love About Construction: I find great joy in seeing the results every day, which is inherent in construction yet not common in many other lines of work. I also love the constantly changing environment requiring quick and decisive leadership. Further, I really enjoy the access and interaction with new people each day – people you can learn from, exchange perspectives, grow relationship. Perhaps most of all, I have created life-long friends in this business which is truly a gift.
• Word to the Wise (advice): I would advise to avoid overthinking things, especially when young but really true for nearly everyone. Be bold, chase big goals, never pass up opportunity to experience the world and/or new ideas and perspectives.
