People Approach
Diversity, Equity

& Inclusion

DPR is a home for everyone. Our vision is a workforce that reflects the rich diversity in the communities in which we live, work, serve, and build. A workplace where everyone is encouraged and empowered to be their best authentic selves and thrive.

We also know that our people and projects are most successful when they benefit from the full spectrum of talent and ideas that exist in every community.

Construction Inclusion Week

A more inclusive industry isn’t going to happen without conscious discussions and actions. DPR is helping to lead the way as a founder of the annual Construction Inclusion Week. We’re also working hard to keep the conversation going all year long. DPR’s DEI leaders have discussed how inclusivity is key to employee retention, bringing more women into the workforce and building a culture of inclusion and belonging, among other topics.

Construction Inclusion Week

Inclusion starts with "I" and includes "us"—all of us. Together, let's build a culture of inclusion and belonging where everyone feels empowered to bring their authentic, best selves to work every day. Nothing is more important than the health, safety and wellbeing of people. To kick off Construction Inclusion Week 2024, hear from our teammates on our commitment and accountability towards being integral and indispensable.

Changing the Culture

We need to get better at bringing differences together and learning from them. Finding a way to accept differences will allow more people to express themselves more authentically, and this will be better for the project, client, industry and world.

Hire, Inspire, Develop, Grow

Talent Acquisition

We know hiring diverse, talented people who want to change the world means expanding beyond where our industry has traditionally recruited. You’ll find us recruiting at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), minority-focused career events, job fairs for veterans, LGBTQIA+ recruitment expos, professional women’s associations and more.

Talent Management

Cultivating a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion extends beyond becoming a part of the DPR family. Once here, we are committed to inspire, develop and grow diverse talent across all levels and functions. Companywide initiatives such as Unconscious Bias and Build Belonging in addition to data analytics help to ensure we are identifying opportunities and mitigating barriers.

Human Resources

Our HR practices are not just a series of policies and procedures but also practices that reflect and best serve our employee family. Equitable pay, inclusive benefits, recognitions and rewards are reviewed and updated regularly.

Employee Resource Groups

"We Exist to Build Great Things.® - great teams, great projects, great people, great relationships, and a great place to work. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are an integral part of this journey. Our ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups, that serve as a resource for both group members and DPR. They give employees from underrepresented populations and their allies a voice and path toward advocacy, exposure, development, and change empowerment. ERGs attract, retain, and connect employees to further cultivate a culture of inclusion that supports diversity of backgrounds, thoughts, and perspectives.

Diversity alone is not enough. People need to feel like they belong, like they matter to the organization, are valued and can bring value. To this end, we need to ensure we have business and people practices that are equitable.
