Envisioning the Collaborative Learning Environment of the Future

DPR builds the higher education facilities of tomorrow, with a focus on safety, sustainability and student experience. Our team understands the unique challenges colleges and universities face, and values the shift towards more collaborative, flexible, resilient learning spaces.
Higher Education Expertise
We Believe Every

Voice Matters

From business schools and nursing facilities to interdisciplinary and research labs, our higher ed team has worked with some of the nation’s leading colleges and universities. We coordinate with all stakeholders—from the administration to the student body—to deliver holistic projects that not only add value to the campus community, but that best equip students and faculty to succeed in their dynamic sectors. We believe in listening before building and strength in a diversity of ideas, because everyone has a voice that matters.

Building a Better

Experience

At DPR, we’re mindful that a campus is ultimately a home, which is why we minimize disruptions and distractions whenever possible. Our teams plan construction work around academic and event calendars, minimize loud activities by utilizing prefabrication, and develop creative solutions to keep campuses moving.

We also prioritize end-user communication and have developed apps, web portals and interactive digital kiosks to keep students and faculty informed on construction progress, project details and important alerts.

Drawing on our broad-based technical experience, DPR helps college and university leaders determine the best strategy to optimize budget and maximize results for their renovation, upgrade and new construction projects.

Sustainability, Technology and Communication

Focused

Today’s students prioritize sustainability and care about their carbon footprint more than ever before. So do we. DPR strives to maintain clean work sites, minimize waste and efficiently handle material to reduce environmental impact on every project.

Modern higher education buildings require infrastructure that can support ever-evolving technology. We take on ownership of IT infrastructure solutions, collaborating with institutions to shape the future together.

Systems like LEED® and WELL Certification™ provide third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, occupant health, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
