2017 Year in Review — New Projects

Science Replacement Building

This project consists of design and construction of a new, multi-story science building near the center of the California State University, Chico campus. The new building will house the departments of chemistry, physics, GEOS, and science education, including science teaching laboratories, prep rooms and storage areas. A neuroscience program with associated teaching and research laboratories will also be included.

The Dream Dallas Hotel

The Dream Dallas Hotel is a 302,000-sq.-ft., 250-key hotel located in Dallas’ Uptown neighborhood, mere feet from DPR’s Dallas office. The 13-story project includes a roof deck, restaurant, swimming pool, and underground parking with more than 250 spaces.

Schmidt Family Complex for Academic & Athletic Excellence

The Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence project consists of site development and design of a state-of-the-art academic and athletic complex with approximately 94,000 sq. ft. of new construction (offices, classrooms, weight and training room, etc.), 20,000 sq. ft. of locker room and support space to be renovated within the existing stadium, and design of two outdoor football practice fields.

North Patient Tower

This project includes a new eight-story patient tower that will feature a wide range of services including imaging, heart and vascular, outpatient laboratories, inpatient laboratory, pre-admission testing, a dedicated mother and baby unit with NICU and labor and delivery suite, conference center, and shell space for future growth.

Surf Ranch Version 2.0

The Kelly Slater Wave Co. Surf Ranch is a 16.6-acre lagoon that produces man-made waves using KSWC technology. The project included 31,915 sq. ft. of buildings, include a 10,121-sq.-ft. learning center/surf club, a 5,392-sq.-ft. training center and a 3,566-sq.-ft. clubhouse.

KPMG’s learning, development, and innovation campus will feature 800 guest rooms, fitness and outdoor recreational facilities, multiple food and beverage venues, as well as learning, classroom, and innovation spaces spread across 55 acres. The facility, located within Orlando’s Lake Nona Sports & Performance district, will open in late 2019.

Kaiser Center Lobby Renovation

DPR was selected to renovate the two-story Kaiser Center lobby, while the building remains fully operational to multiple existing tenants. The project includes renovations to the large water feature, new mechanical systems, an entire façade overhaul and all new plaza and surrounding exterior landscape designed by world renowned landscape architect, Meyer + Silberberg.

Park Central Mall Redevelopment

Block 71 is a 35-story, 1,300,626-sq.-ft. Class A office tower located in the heart of the Austin’s Central Business District. The ground floor level will feature an office lobby and approximately 8,458 sq. ft. of retail space. Office space will be located on levels 15–35 with exterior terraces on approximately half the office floors.
