Through another challenging year, issues around the growing economic divide remain front and center. DPR Construction partners with organizations that are continuously adapting and pushing forward in their missions to improve the lives of economically under-resourced youth. Through a strategic philanthropic vision of “Building Possibilities for the Under-Resourced,” and through skills-based volunteering, DPR is proud to play a small part in tackling these issues.

DPR’s community initiatives task forces enter 2022 with a great deal of optimism and full slates of plans to support their community partners. In doing so, they form the philanthropic cornerstone to DPR’s larger Global Social Responsibility efforts.

The 2021 Community Initiatives Annual Report reflects on the events and opportunities where volunteers leveraged their unique skills and resources to best serve the needs of their nonprofit partners, using DPR’s Three Pillars of community involvement: facility construction and renovation, career and education guidance for youth, and operational support for nonprofit partners.

• Laser-focused on strategic outcomes, the “By the Numbers” pdf explores DPR’s CI outputs and results. In 2021, DPR delivered 73 renovation projects that increased capacity, flexibility and safety for nonprofit partners through its Pillar 1 offering of facility construction and renovation.
• 1,500 under-resourced youth participated in DPR’s construction and career education initiatives, both in-person and virtually.
  

• DPR’s Build Up High School Internship, focused on construction management for under-resourced high school students, reached new heights in 2021 with 25 summer interns working on major construction projects across the country.
• Last year, DPR built relationships with community organizations and helped strengthen their operational capacity through its Pillar 3 offering of Operational Support for Nonprofit Partners. DPR supported 56 community partner organizations through board service, professional skills training and other operational support.
