Riverside, CA|Building a state-of-the-art plant research facility in Southern California
Work is wrapping up on the 31,500-sq-ft, two-story UC Riverside Plant Growth Environments Facility that reinterprets the modern greenhouse. The facility includes high-tech, climate-controlled modules and features greenhouse space, research laboratories, and growth chamber housing.
Dallas, TX|Dallas CASA Mavericks Playhouse
DPR’s self-perform work crews sank a three-pointer on a recent community initiative project in Dallas-Fort Worth. Partnering with the Dallas Mavericks, the team built an imaginative playhouse for Dallas CASA's Parade of Playhouses, a fundraiser benefiting local abused and neglected children. The dynamic playhouse, which opens and closes, is a raffle item which will be sold to support children in the community.
Newton, MA|Newton Wellesley Hospital COVID-19 Recovery Preparations
DPR helped Newton-Wellesley Hospital prepare its spaces for the restart of elective procedures and additional patient treatments during COVID-19. The team oversaw the installation of semi-permanent or permanent glass screens for public spaces such as transaction desks in reception areas, nurse stations, waiting rooms, pharmacies and cafeterias. The barriers aid in minimizing the risk of coronavirus spread between patients and visitors and medical staff.
Tampa, FL|HRI Properties is on Top in Tampa
DPR celebrated the topping out of the new the 364,000-sq.-ft. design-build space for HRI Properties dual-branded with Hyatt Place and Hyatt House project. DPR self-performed the first floor and installation of prefabricated exterior panels, which were manufactured offsite by Digital Building Components. To mark the topping out, the team signed their names to the building’s final steel beam and watched as a crane elevated it 17 stories into place.
International, Netherlands|Showcasing DPR’s Data Center Expertise in Europe
Dutch publication Channel Connect featured both DPR Europe and Managing Director Damian Farr in its recent issue on data centers. This is an exciting platform to showcase DPR Europe’s data center expertise as DPR grows its footprint across Europe.
San Diego, CA|Miller Hull Studio Earns Petal Certification for Sustainable Design
The Miller Hull San Diego studio was the first project to earn Petal Certification under the latest version of the International Living Future Institute’s (ILFI) Living Building Challenge. Salvaged and Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood as well as locally-sourced materials helped the project achieve the Materials Petal. In the first year of operations, the studio produced 30 percent more energy than it used.
