Building “Raving Fans” in the Southeast

The customer-focused, collaborative approach that has fueled DPR’s growth over the past 12 years has reached the Atlanta market. With the official opening of its 18th office, DPR is building great things - including a great team of Georgians - to better serve current and new customers in the Southeast.

“The fields may be very different, but I see a lot of similarities between football and construction, especially at DPR,” said Steve Bartkowski, former Atlanta Falcon’s quarterback and member of DPR’s regional leadership team. “Right from the start of a job, we work closely with the entire project team and do whatever it takes to make sure no one drops the ball. Our goal is to consistently deliver projects that exceed expectations and build a group of ‘raving DPR fans’ in the area.”

Helping Bartkowski round out the Atlanta team are John Cheek, Alan Beckley, Betty Dingess and Christy Pinson. Together they offer more than 50 years of experience in the Southeast, working closely with such clients as Chateau Elan, Emory University, Georgia Tech, Augusta Riverfront Complex, West Paces Ferry Hospital, Crawford Long Hospital, The Omni Complex, Trammell Crow, Crescent Resources, and Wakefield Beasley.

“DPR’s growth into new regions and markets has always been driven by two main factors, our customers and our entrepreneurial spirit. Our move into the Southeast represents DPR’s commitment to customers and our dedication to the continued advancement and support of employees by creating new opportunities within the company,” said Scott Reay, regional manager in Atlanta and eight-year veteran of DPR.

Other DPR veterans, who join Reay in bringing the company’s unique culture and philosophy to the region, include Mark Qualman, who brings DPR estimating expertise, Todd Armistead (an Atlanta native) and Jack Poindexter (a New Orleans native). “Our extensive experience in building complex projects, combined with our strong relationships in the Southeast including national and regional customers, architects and developers, provide fertile ground for our Atlanta operations,” said Reay, who added that many DPR customers, such as AT&T, AOL, Kaiser Permanente, Nokia, Lockheed, Concert Global Networks and Siebel Systems, have a significant presence in the region.

Starting big, the Atlanta team has already landed a project for global aviation services giant, Mercury Air, and a 100,000-sq.-ft. project for PricewaterhouseCoopers. “We’re taking Atlanta by storm with our unconditional, proactive construction management services and fresh approach to solving issues,” said Reay. “There are no boundaries as we expand in the Southeast and further establish DPR’s presence on the Eastern half of the U.S.”
