DPR Drives Completion
New Clubhouse for World-Class Resort and Golf Club in Carmel, CA
DPR enters the final stretch. With more than 120 people on-site daily, DPR is working closely with the owner, architect and local subcontractors to wrap up a $7.5 million clubhouse renovation for one of the nation’s leading resorts, Quail Lodge Resort and Golf Club, in Carmel, CA. Slated for a June finish, the six-month project features interior and exterior improvements to the resort’s two-story, 32,000-sq.-ft. clubhouse and its surrounding area, nestled on a 3.26-acre site.
“Quail Lodge is one of the world’s premier resort and golf destinations, and we’re taking every proactive measure to ensure that construction does not disrupt the operations and services provided to the resort’s valued guests,” said Kurtis Forsgren, project manager for DPR Construction’s Special Services Group, which was created in 1999 to handle customers’ small-to mid-size needs for projects ranging from $1,000 to $8 million.
“DPR’s extensive experience in building within or adjacent to occupied functioning facilities, such as hospitals, corporate offices, biotech laboratories and classrooms, provides us with the ability to work as efficiently, quietly and safely as possible even under the most aggressive schedules,” added Forsgren. “And, for this particular project, we’re constantly coming up with innovative systems for putting in beams, steel, concrete and wood to keep the schedule intact and ensure that the design allows for the existing conditions of the building.”
Renovations include new meeting rooms and two kitchens, an expanded Pro Shop, upgraded exterior guardrails, and new site concrete and landscaping.
A 20-time Mobile Five-Star Award recipient and member of the prestigious Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Quail Lodge Resort and Golf Club features an 18-hole, 6,449-yard championship golf course designed by Robert Muir Graves, tennis courts, spa and 97 guest rooms and suites.
