Tour of DPR's Reston office in partnership with the U.S Green Building Council's National Capital Region

RESTON, VA

In partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council’s National Capital Region, more than 70 people were invited to tour DPR’s office outside of Washington, D.C. while it was under construction. On a panel with the project’s architect, mechanical and electrical engineers, and experts from Sustainable Building Partners, DPR’s Christopher Gorthy taught industry professionals about what it takes to build a net-zero energy building on the East Coast.
The team discussed the four major goals of the new DPR office: to create an office of the future that invigorates our people; to be environmentally responsible; to make data-driven decisions in every aspect of the job; and to create a living laboratory that showcases industry best practices. After the panel, guests were given tours to provide a first look at how the construction and building industry can rethink commercial real estate in the D.C. region.
