Asante Health System Adds Beds, Expands Emergency and Surgery Departments

DPR’s Portland office is gearing up to build a six-story, 140-bed addition to the Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Oregon. The hospital expansion includes a two-story Emergency and Surgery addition. To clear way for the new hospital addition, DPR will first construct a four-story, 632-stall parking structure, as well as a two-story helipad and utility structure. Once existing departments are relocated to the new building, DPR will be remodeling the existing Emergency and Diagnostic Imaging areas.

Expanding Hospitals and Relationships with HCA

Furthering its long-standing relationship with HCA, DPR’s Austin office was recently awarded two major hospital expansions. For the South Austin Hospital, DPR will be building a ground-up, four-story medical building that will be tied into the existing hospital, as well as completing 34,000 sq. ft. of interior renovations that include a fifth-floor addition and an emergency services remodel. In expanding Round Rock Hospital, DPR will be making modifications to the surgical services, intensive care, women’s services and diagnostic and imaging areas.

Building with Heart in Sacramento

DPR’s Sacramento office recently began preconstruction on a 150,000-sq.-ft. expansion for Catholic Healthcare West’s Mercy General Hospital. An Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) project, the new six-story tower will expand the emergency and diagnostic imaging departments and consist of a heart wing providing space for cardiac operating rooms, catheterization laboratories and cardiac intensive care beds. One hundred and twenty-six new medical-surgical beds and receiving and food service/dining departments will also be housed in the tower. In addition, the project includes a new central plant and parking structure.
