Building a great charitable organization to help children in need

“We will be as integral and indispensable to the communities we operate in as the Boys and Girls Clubs and The Red Cross” has been a long-term goal of DPR’s, tied directly to our mission to be one of the most admired companies by the year 2030. Over the last 18 years, DPR has contributed several million dollars and volunteered thousands of hours, both as a company and individually, to support worthy causes in our communities—from cleaning up the Newport Beach, CA coast and organizing teams to walk/run for a cause to participating in programs like Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together in multiple cities across the nation.

This year, we are adding to our philanthropic efforts and are pleased to announce the formation of The DPR Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization directed toward helping disadvantaged kids. Headed by Peter Nosler and Gary Wohl, with an initial financial contribution in excess of $1 million from DPR, the new foundation will work closely with DPR employees to identify appropriate organizations local to our offices that would benefit from additional financial and volunteer support.

The foundation’s goal is to select organizations that are helping children in need and with which we can build continuity through our involvement. A DPR Foundation Advisory Committee, which includes representatives from each DPR regional office, is being organized to assist and support the foundation. A Foundation Board also is being established and, in conjunction with DPR’s Management Committee, will make all the final selections of recipients or grantees based on a predetermined set of criteria.

We are very excited about the additional impact DPR will have through our new nonprofit foundation, supplementing the tremendous regional and personal community involvement initiatives that exist throughout the company today. Our vision is to build a sustaining charitable enterprise through DPR’s continued commitment, employee contributions (which will be matched by DPR), and additional outside support from our subcontractors, partners and friends. We look forward to a great year of helping children in need in our communities and making a lasting investment to build great things for the future.
