DPR Construction Honored for Providing
DPR Construction, Inc. has been awarded the "Over the Top Customer Service" award by the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. This award comes for the Texas contractor with global capabilities after recently opening its third and fourth Texas offices, in Houston and San Antonio, and after relocating its Dallas office to larger space.
According to Mark Hazelwood, Chamber President and CEO, DPR was honored in the medium-sized business category for its flat corporate structure that empowers each employee to make decisions. Creating added value for the customer, every DPR employee, from craft person to regional manager, takes it upon themselves to think outside the box in offering customers cost saving suggestions and processing change orders quickly.
"In the mornings, each DPR employee is greeted with the slogan, 'listen to the client, become the client,'" said DPR's Gary Nauert. "Imprinted on one of our walls, this slogan reminds each of us that we are responsible for creating satisfaction among our customers."
Some of the disciplines DPR has in place to provide quality service are in-person customer satisfaction surveys before, during and after construction, customer-focused team meetings at the end of each project, and the use of wireless communication devices, database management and virtual meeting places. To fully leverage these practices, after each project is completed DPR compiles and summarizes customer feedback and provides it not only to the project team, but also to a self-directed work group that takes the information and determines how it may applied company-wide. DPR has also established a customer satisfaction database to track customer preferences and lessons learned, so that past experiences can be used on future projects for that customer by any of DPR's offices.
"Since first establishing our presence in Texas more than seven years ago, we have continued to grow, taking the expertise of a global company with diverse market experience and combining it with some of the best construction talent in Texas," noted Nauert. "Our Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio offices work as a team to create an environment where our Texas customers know they are the top priority."
A local builder with global capabilities, DPR Construction, Inc., has been "building great things" in Texas since 1994, including projects statewide for such notable companies as Sun Microsystems, CarrAmerica Realty, Motorola, Texas A&M, Hillwood Properties and WorldCom. Specializing in technically demanding projects in healthcare, energy, digital media, biotechnology/pharmaceutical, corporate/speculative office, mission critical (data/telecom), entertainment and warehouse and distribution industries, DPR has been recognized for its unique collaborative approach in local, national and global markets and is a recipient of Arthur Andersen's 2001 Global Best Practices Award for creating customer value.
