AUSTIN, TEXAS – AUG. 5, 2019 – DPR Construction, one of the nation’s leading technical builders specializing in highly complex and sustainable projects, announced its Austin, Texas office has completed its move to a new space on the city's East Side. The new office, which occupies the third floor of the Foundry at 310 Comal Street, was built by DPR employees.

“Making the East Side DPR’s new home is special for a number of reasons,” said DPR’s Austin Business Unit Leader Bryan Kent. “Aside from East Austin’s growth, the thriving entertainment district, the eclectic local business and diverse community, the Foundry’s location offers a new proximity to many of our clients, partners and projects.”

Designed by IA Interior Architects, the office reflects both DPR’s operational approach and culture. Featuring elements and materials familiar to jobsites, prominent skylights, a living green wall, an open floor plan, technology-enabled conference rooms, an innovation lab, a gallery wall that depicts DPR’s self-performed trades, installations by local artists, and several areas dedicated specifically to employee enjoyment, the space seamlessly balances work, play and the spirit of Austin.

“The Foundry office personifies our core values and what we’re capable of,” said DPR Management Committee member Matt Hoglund. “Within our office, we can show our clients, visitors and even potential new hires what it means to be a self-performing general contractor and work in a next-generation energy-efficient, sustainable space.”

In addition to better accommodating DPR’s growing local team, the new office places extra emphasis on human-centered design and biophilic principles. In fact, DPR’s office will be the first WELL Certified™ project in Austin, is pursuing Net-Zero Energy (NZE) Certification from the International Living Future Institute; and, though the existing building is tracking for LEED® Gold Certified, the office space is pursuing LEED-CI v4.0 Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
