Sybase, Inc. has relocated its worldwide corporate headquarters from Emeryville, Calif. to Dublin, Calif. - The New Campus Provides Employee Amenities as Well as Enhanced Technological Features That Benefit Sybase Customers - Nearly a 1000 Employees and Guests Are Expected to Attend Today's Historical Commemorative Event
Demonstrating its strength and momentum in the marketplace, Sybase, Inc., a leading e-Business infrastructure provider, today announced the grand opening of its new corporate headquarters campus in Dublin, California — located approximately 40 miles east of San Francisco. Completed just 18 months following the official ground-breaking ceremony, the campus consists of two six-story buildings totaling 405,000 square feet that can accommodate nearly 1000 employees. This move to Dublin reflects the commitment Sybase has to its employees as well as its momentum in the global marketplace.
"The grand opening of our new headquarters appropriately demonstrates Sybase's continued growth, momentum and profitability over the past years," said John Chen, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Sybase. "By developing a world-class work environment for our employees, we provide an atmosphere that promotes continued innovation and success."
Sybase's new campus offers an enhanced working environment, with amenities that include: Full-service gourmet cafeteria with indoor and outdoor dining areas — ClubOne fitness center — Onsite childcare facility — Company store for Sybase gear and ATM access — One-acre park-like plaza — Easy access to downtown Dublin, the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station and to bordering interstate highways.
In addition to offering employee amenities, the new campus provides enhanced service and technology to Sybase customers. Among the technological advancements at the Dublin campus is a state-of-the-art data center that is energy efficient and provides faster support to Sybase customers worldwide. The new data center consolidates the five data centers from the previous Emeryville location, into one single location. Housed within the data center, the Global Enterprise Operations Center (GEOC), is the primary location for monitoring centralized systems and staffed 24x7, to respond to customers worldwide. High-definition large screens have been installed to monitor priority requests.
The new Dublin campus consolidates employees from six buildings in Emeryville, and offices in Pacheco and Milpitas. Sybase is already an active member in the community by supporting Dublin school fundraising efforts and sponsoring local events in Dublin serving the entire Tri-Valley area (Dublin, Pleasanton and Livermore).
"Sybase was one of the first companies to announce its move to the city of Dublin during the technology boom," said Dublin Mayor Janet Lockhart. "I'm pleased that Sybase has been able to weather the economic downturn, to stay on course in the development of its headquarters, and toact as a partner in the development of the city of Dublin."
The address for Sybase's New Headquarters is 5000 Hacienda Drive, Dublin CA 94568. The main phone number is 925-236-5000.
Sybase worked closely with the city of Dublin, Wilcox Development Services of Dallas, Texas, RMW architecture and interiors, and DPR Construction, Inc., both of San Francisco, Calif., to ensure that the development, design and building of the new campus was completed on time. iStar Financial Inc., a commercial real estate investment firm based in New York, owns the new Sybase headquarters.
