Camp Southern Ground | Residential Lodge 1
Camp Southern Ground | Residential Lodge 1 | Peachtree City, Georgia
This project is the first residential lodge for Grammy Award-winning country music singer, Zac Brown's Camp Southern Ground, which aims to provide extraordinary experiences for children to recognize and magnify the unique gifts within themselves and others in order to profoundly impact the world. The residential lodge is a 33,000-sq.-ft. ground-up building that will initially be used during camp season for both boys and girls until another separate lodge is built. In the off-season, the lodge will be used for veterans and their families, particularly those suffering from PTSD, as well as to host corporate events.
Project Scope
The building includes a steel frame with a combination of brick, cementitious siding, and metal panel exterior. The interiors include high-end finishes with accents made from Taylor Guitar wood.
The three-level structural steel building is comprised of 16 camper rooms (on floors 2 and 3) that can be joined together via an operable partition. The bathrooms are shared between two camp "pods". Each camp room has fold-down beds and bunks that will house both campers during summer months and adults during corporate events year-round.
The mechanical room is located in the basement and houses pumps for the Geothermal ground loop, DOAS unit, and tankless water heaters. The HVAC system is comprised of WSHPs throughout the building. The electrical system features tunable lighting in the camp pods.
This project is a Joint Venture and is targeting LEED Gold.
