UC Davis | Central Cage Wash Facility
UC Davis | Central Cage Wash Facility | Davis, CA
The UC Davis Central Cage Wash facility is a stand-alone support facility to the university's research programs and is operated by the Teaching and Research Animal Care Services (TRACS). The facility was a design-build project that included an approximated 9,000-sq.-ft. single level cage wash facility and site improvements for efficient handling and processing of the equipment for the University research programs. Processing equipment included a tunnel washer, two rack washers, both a contaminated side and clean side bulk autoclaves, and automated bottom loading cage bedding dispenser. The project was designed to accommodate for future expansion of the building and additional equipment to increase the processing capacity of the facility as demand grows. Through the collaborative effort of the entire team, the project achieved LEED Gold.
