Project Scope
Through this focus, four goals were established to guide our former office space:
- Net Zero/Healthy Building. In order to support our Net Zero Energy (NZE) goals in an urban setting, we searched for a building that exhibited great potential to support features such as daylighting, natural ventilation, and daylight harvesting. This site was selected due to its existing infrastructure, urban density and access to alternative modes of transportation.
- Honor DPR Culture and Brand. The space needed to represent DPR’s culture and celebrate our brand. We wanted to make it a living lab and make it feel alive—a creative space, where people can be their most creative.
- Living Lab/Teaching Lab. This office was inspired by like-minded clients that share a commitment to the environment, community, and employees. It was our goal to have space where our clients will want to host events and experience our living lab.
- Cost. Do everything for under $200 per sq. ft. This project required more than the standard tenant improvement upgrade; we also upgraded 80% of the structural and fire protection, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
