Duke University School of Medicine and the School of Nursing is a five-story, 104,500-sq.-ft. building will be home for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Division.

Details

The building will house administration and Graduate Medical Education offices for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the School of Nursing’s Ph.D. program, Center for Nursing Research, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and Office of Student Services. This state-of-the-art facility houses multi-disciplined medical technology classrooms for the various concentrations of studies, allowing the expansion of inter-professional education and care. The program includes offices, auditorium style conference room, bullpens, conference rooms, skills labs and kitchenettes.

Some key elements to the project were the jewel box front vestibule which is composed of exposed steel arches, a glass Infill railing system for stairs, with a Duke stone feature wall. The exterior is precast with a glass curtain wall at various locations.
