The Gateway Village project transformed a 15-acre site in downtown Charlotte into an urban village of more than 1,000,000 sq. ft. of "Class A" office space; 2,700 parking spaces; over 500 residential units; and street level retail elements.
Project
Details
The first phase, Building 800, included the construction of 650,000 sq. ft. of office space in two towers. The two buildings are connected by a sky bridge and galleria at floors five and six. Phase I also included construction of a 2,700-space parking deck - the largest in the Carolinas.
The second phase of the project included construction of Building 900, an eight-story office building with approximately 480,000 rentable square feet of office space.

Meets the Eye
Both buildings sit atop a platform that conceals below-grade maintenance, central plant, and service access for the entire complex. State-of-the-art mechanical and electrical systems were integrated into the structures to allow 24/7 usage with 25x redundancy.
