The new simulation lab named the Huntington Ingalls Industries Center for Education and Training, provides spaces for Labor and Delivery, Med-Surg, Intensive Care Unit, and Emergency Department educational training. The simulation lab renovation consisted of a 6,700-sq.-ft. build-out of existing shell space within Riverside Regional Medical Center. Each space is a replica of the procedure rooms found throughout the existing hospital. The simulation lab also houses virtual reality tools that enable clinicians to maintain and update their skills to better care for their patients.

Work
DPR illustrated the value of our Self Performing Work (SPW) team by completing the Framing and Drywall, Acoustical Ceilings, Division 10 Specialties, Wall Protection and Doors/Frames and Hardware on the project. Our SPW work allowed for short interval planning, while also setting the tone for our Injury-Free Environment (IFE) culture and quality.
