The new Solano Community College Science Building replaces facilities that date back 45 years and is a showcase building for the campus. The project included the design and construction of a ground-up, design-build science building.
Details
The new construction includes a 45,000-sq.-ft. facility that houses state of the arts science laboratories for biology, chemistry, anatomy, geology and geography, as well as two general laboratories, a lecture room and general support spaces. The building features teaching spaces for science programs, faculty offices, restrooms and interactive social meeting spaces located in the lobby area. The scope of work also included exterior interactive spaces and miscellaneous site improvements.
In addition, a Veteran’s Center will be a part of this new construction, providing support services for veterans attending the college.
