This fast-track project for Symantec Corporation’s corporate headquarters involved the demolition and build-out of the fifth and tenth floors of an occupied office tower in Tempe’s Hayden Ferry Buildings. Symantec was interested in implementing green building techniques to reduce their environmental impact. New construction of the space included hard wall systems, flooring, wall finishes, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and lighting controls. New workstations, open office areas, conference rooms, focus pods, break rooms and informal lounges offer. In addition, storage rooms, network (IT) rooms, utility rooms, and a lobby were updated to better support the needs of a corporate headquarters. Wood-paneled walls, a plant wall, a rock climbing wall, and mothers/wellness rooms were installed to provide a healthy and comfortable environment for employees.
