The Scripps Research Institute Science Park Renovation
The Scripps Research Institute Science Park Renovation | La Jolla, California
DPR renovated a 90,000-sq.-ft., 20-year-old building on the Scripps Research Institute campus to make it suitable for laboratory applications central to the Institute’s research. The interior demolition and reconstruction scope included upgrading and replacing all central plant equipment, major structural upgrades and a complete tenant improvement. The tenant improvement was comprised of office space, lab support areas, biology labs, chemistry labs, a bio-safety level 3 lab and 17,000 sq. ft. of testing space. Self-performed drywall work was sequenced around the structural upgrades so that productivity and the schedule were uncompromised.
DPR completed the project with zero defects.
